Video three

Worrying about, or trying to fix others is a common time and energy drain in relationships, particularly with those closest to us. There are prevalent beliefs that worrying equals love, and that it is our ‘job’ to fix other people’s behaviours or challenges.

In this video I explore several aspects of this that we commonly struggle with, and aim to debunk the myth that either worrying or trying to ‘fix’ someone is part of our ‘job description’ in our relationships.

Specifically I cover:

1.           How no amount of worry or overthinking will ever change an outcome.

2.           How solutions don’t come from worry

3.           Explore the question of looking at our own feelings of discomfort when someone we love is struggling

4.           How we can innocently lose sight of the innate resilience of those we love

5.           How our own expectations in relationships create suffering for us

When we can see this for ourselves it frees up a lot of mental headspace, energy and time lost in our thinking.
