Are you listening to the brass band or the flute?

Our habitual, repetitive, egoic or personal thinking is mostly pretty loud in our heads and is able to grab our attention easily. Rather like if a brass band was playing close by to you. You couldn’t help but listen. As a society we are mostly led to believe that the constant analytical chatter that goes on in our heads is useful, and needs to be paid attention to.


Our innate wisdom that is always within us, can be somewhat quieter, like a flute playing. This flute is always playing but often gets drowned out by the brass band.


Will you allow your attention to be drawn continually to the brass band of your thoughts, that you have likely heard a million times before and offer you nothing new? Or will you turn a soft attention away from this noise and see if you can notice the flute of your wisdom gently playing and guiding you? You have all you need within you already….
