We live in separate realities

Updated: Mar 6, 2023

Our thinking about life, not life itself, is what creates our experience of things we encounter in the outside world.

Yesterday I was on the train to work with clients in London, and I saw 2 men doing some VERY high up window cleaning (hope it’s clear from the photo!). I had the thought “Oh how scary! How awful to have that as a job!” And then it hit me that their thoughts about high-up window cleaning are likely to be completely different to mine. They might think “What wonderful views from up here” or “I love being able to work outside” or “I like looking into all the office windows”.

It struck me again how we all live in completely different realities about life according to the Thought energy that is passing through us at the time. There are 7 billion different realities on Earth. Expecting others to have our thinking about something is like expecting them to have the same fingerprints as us.

Window cleaning in and of itself is neutral, we merely apply ‘meaning’ to it according to our thinking about it. And none of it is true, it’s just a perspective.

This applies not just to high-up window cleaning of course. But to all situations, people and experiences in life. Life is neutral and we apply the meaning. We don’t need to make others (or ourselves) right or wrong according to what they think. Think what this would do for world peace!

All thought is temporary, and is an energy that moves and shifts on its own. We always have the possibility of new, fresh thinking coming to us that changes our ‘reality’ of life. How freeing is that!
