Full disclosure upfront, I have been sent a box of free goodies from the wonderful Erbology so that I can review them on this blog. I haven’t received, or will receive, any affiliate payment for my honest review.
Now that is over, let’s get down to it.
Erbology are Irina and Victor Turcan, siblings who are hooked on whole foods, healthy living and weird-sounding roots and berries. Already these people are up my street! They are thought-leaders in plant-based nutrition. Their products take powerful plants and make them accessible in every day foods. There are products are really beautiful, and have nutritional punch.
I have found it hard to incorporate tigernuts into my diet. So this snack provides the solution. You can just chew on the raw nut, but to be honest, I find them a tad chewy and not so tasty. This snack tastes great and truly has a good nutritional profile. With so much focus on fibre in the diet at the moment (most of us don’t get anywhere near enough fibre), this is a fibre-rich snack. Another box ticked!
Here are some key health points in this snack’s favour:
Tigernut is not a nut but a sweet root vegetable. It’s packed with minerals, including iron, magnesium and zinc. It’s also high in fibre and acts as a prebiotic.
Made with activated chia, linseeds, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds – a good source of plant EFAs
Nopal is a source of polyphenols that fight free radical damage in your body
Organic, gluten-free, no added sugar (there is natural sugars in it), plant-based, gut friendly and no additives.
Let me know if you try this snack or any other Erbology product. I’ll be reviewing a few more as the weeks go by.
