Acai Cacao Smoothie

This delicious smoothie is a berry feast. Berries have been in the media a lot over the last few years and with good reason.


Berries as a food group are high in antioxidants, and the Acai berry has the highest concentration of all. The list of health benefits of berries seems to grow by the day (may reduce cholesterol levels, help balance blood sugar levels, reduce inflammation, may be protective against cancer) so save this recipe and include it in your (at least) weekly diet.


The raw cacao powder also provides good levels of magnesium so it’s a good addition to your diet if you are stressed or anxious, or exercise a lot.


Serves 1


Ingredients

1 small banana, fresh or frozen

½ cup of strawberries, fresh or frozen

½ cup blackberries, fresh or frozen

Large handful of spinach

1to 2 tsp Acai powder

1 tbsp raw cacao powder

1 tsp Amla powder (optional)

2 tbsp plant based protein powder

1 tbsp almond butter

200 to 250ml hazelnut milk (or other milk of your choice)


Blend until smooth and serve!
